The project involved the demolition of stadium stands to allow for the construction of new three-tier and single-tier stands, increasing the overall capacity from 43,000 to 45,400 spectators. The redevelopment also included the installation of a new natural grass pitch and a comprehensive range of modern facilities, such as team dressing rooms, a gym, medical suites, a commercial kitchen, restaurant and conference centre, as well as upgraded toilets, meeting rooms, food and beverage outlets, offices, a museum, and enhanced spectator concourses. The scheme incorporated energy-efficient LED lighting throughout.
In addition, the development of the Marina Park formed a key part of the project, involving the diversion of existing culverts and the creation of new public walkways, circulation routes, access areas, and pedestrian bridges. The works also included the provision of car parking and improved entrance roads, contributing to a high-quality, accessible public amenity.
